RFF – 2/10/12

It’s time for another RFF!  I was also tagged this week by Megan of Running Toward The Prize, so I’ll answer her questions following my “facts”.

1. Few people know that 2 years ago I lived an entire month on only bananas, dates, and water.  It was a transition period to going raw.  Believe it or not, I loved it, never once got sick of bananas or dates, and it was the most alive I’ve felt my entire life.  Although I wasn’t on a 100% banana/date diet the entire time, I kept up with staying 95% raw until about a month ago. During my raw period I ate MANY bananas.  Several months ago I calculated approximately how many bananas I’ve consumed within the past 2 years…well over 10,000.

2. Due to my energy and positivity someone dared me to try out for cheerleading while in high school.  When interviewed in my audition I was asked what season I’d like to cheer. I flippantly said, “Both football and basketball!” and surprisingly made both squads.  I love to dance and have lots of energy, so it was a good time, but I found out quickly the cattiness that comes along with it wasn’t worth it.  Needless to say my cheerleading days lasted only that one year.

3. After years of personal debate I got a tattoo 1.5 yrs ago.  I chose words around my torso that all mean something to me.  I “designed” it by choosing fonts, arranging it how I wanted it to be laid out, and made sure the artist used vegan ink.  It took well over 4 hours and I call it my “Band of Significance”.  I’m very happy with it and most people wouldn’t even know I have a tattoo.  I have yet to decide if I will add on to it or not.  Only time will tell.

4. Speaking of tattoos, most people wouldn’t guess that I’m married to a guy that has well over 30 tattoos, his nose pierced, and rocks a mohawk.  Funny thing is, he doesn’t fit the “stereotype” and he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.  And I’m not just saying that because he’s my husband. Of course, what would you expect from a rockstar? 😉

5. My mom and I have the same birthday.  I’m grateful that although she may not have had a choice, she willingly shared her birthday with me.  Other than D, she’s my best friend and am glad we share this special day together.

My Mom and I at approximately the same ages.  I am so like her in many ways…it’s scary.

Megan’s Questions For Me:

1. What’s your favorite animated movie? Tough one as I love all of the Disney movies.  I’ll settle on Beauty and The Beast.

2. What is the one piece of technology you couldn’t live without? Computer w/ Internet

3. Would you rather be a police officer, firefighter or EMT? EMT.  I can handle the bloody stuff 😉

4. Where would you love to visit (that you haven’t yet)? Italy!  But heading there in April.  Woot!

5. Mexican or Chinese food? Love both but I tend to lean toward Mexican more.

6. What kind of car do you drive? Black Chevy Aveo Hatchback.  I call her “Skate”…like a big roller skate.

7. Who is your favorite cartoon character? Never been into cartoons really.  Mickey ??

8. Mac or PC? Haven’t used a Mac since I was a freshman in high school.  Wouldn’t mind trying one again though.

9. What super hero power would you want? Flying

10. What is your favorite season?  Either Summer or Fall, although each season has it’s pros and cons.

11. Ice cream or cake? Gosh.  Absolutely love both but don’t eat either of them much anymore since focusing on whole foods.  But I guess I’d take ice cream over cake…if I HAD to choose.

Keep Smiling and Be Grateful =)

Wow. That is a LOT of bananas. I can’t even imagine what that experience must have been like! Unreal! PS I dig the tattoo – very cool. If I were ever to get one, it would have to be totally unique and have such significance, much like yours does for you.

Ok I love banana flavor but hate the texture of them so a month of them seems like tooooo long, but it’s actually a cool thing you did that and stuck with it. My Mom and sis are look and act alikes in our family.
