I Need Kettlebells In My Life – Day 2 At The Arnold
See my Day 1 recap of the Arnold Sports Festival here.
I woke up early on Day 2 to meet our FitFluential CEO Kelly Olexa along with several other FitFluential Ambassadors for breakfast. Prior to leaving I still ate 2 oranges and drank some Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer. I knew I wasn’t going to workout but I also would appreciate the bit of energy it’d give me.
Once I arrived at the convention center I headed for the cafe and soon was united with Kelly, Lisa, Rebekah, Elisabeth and Emily, Electra, Sahar, and Jana. Chris and Dan from GNC also made it to the breakfast. It was nice to put faces with so many names and personalities we’ve met online and there was no lack of conversation.

Everyone went with the breakfast buffet and left nice and full. I loaded up on lots o’ carbs

I sat next to Lisa at breakfast. She is known as Kettlebell Bombshell and is insanely knowledgable about so many topics. I had already wanted to add kettlebells to my workout, but after meeting her and seeing everything I saw this weekend I kept finding myself saying, “I need kettlebells in my life”.
Of course we grabbed some quick photo opportunities before heading to a full day at The Arnold.

After breakfast we all ventured out to experience the Arnold. I made it a point to hit up:
Cheerleading - I have a small background in cheerleading and although I’m not into all of the makeup and hairspray that goes with competition cheer, it’s still a ton of fun to watch.

Gymnastics – I’ve never competed but I LOVE LOVE LOVE to watch gymnastics. It was nice to see the sport represented at The Arnold.

CrossFit - I spent more time at the CrossFit Games. I still don’t see CrossFit for me in the future, but it did provided inspiration. I need kettlebells in my life….

Martial Arts - They had judo, grappling, karate, and ju jitsu. I’ll be honest, I don’t know the difference between all of them.
I also spent a ton of time in the expo grabbing photos of celebrities and pro-athletes.

And a group of us hit up the GNCLiveWell booth and has some fun with their crew. They were so fun and welcoming. We had a good time.

Muscles everywhere! I need kettlebells in my life.
Thankfully we were able to find another FitFluential Ambassador Lindsay and she joined in the fun.
We started talking fitness and pistol squats. She gave us a demonstration and has since issued us a challenge.
After a full day at The Arnold a group of us headed out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. After a 2 hours wait (Yes, 2 hours. I’ve never waited that long in my life…thankful for excellent company!) we chowed down. It was fun to hear about what everyone does for a living and what their blog is about. Lisa and Rebekah provided a ton of info and I took notes. Seriously.

The entire weekend was an experience I’ll never forget. I learned way more than I expected, met new people, stepped outside of my norm, and can’t wait for my next FitFluential adventure. Wonder where I’ll go next…
Thank you GNC and FitFluential for this opportunity!
Keep Smiling and Be Grateful =)
PS I just ordered Kettlebell Bombshell DVDs and plan to purchase some kettlebells within the next few days. Making my, “I need kettlebells in my life” a reality!

Looks like you had a real great time! I love watching cheerleading and gymnastics too.
As for kettlebells, they scare me but I do want to try it. They would make the perfect addition to our home gym don’t you think? LOL
Aw man what an exciting event! I never knew about the Arnold before your recaps. And an AC Slater sighting? Nice!
we just recently got a kettlebell! have used it twice now
looked like a great time!! love your Vega shirt, we are big fans of vega!
Excited to implement kettlebells. Thanks, I love Vega too!! =)
I had NO idea gymnastics was represented at The Arnold. That is AWESOME. I was a competitive elite gymnast until I blew out my knee when I was 17… I MISS IT
So fun.
I say again – looks like you guys had an incredible time!
OMG- I am officially jealous. Loved all your pictures! Why do I have to live so far away? Now I feel like I need to pick up my kettle bell.
WHOA abs…and arms…that’s all I’ve got to say.
Looks like such a great time – I’ve enjoyed your recaps, Heidi! Thanks for sharing and YES grab those kettlebells (stoked you’re already being proactive about it) – what a great, versatile and effective tool to incorporate into your fitness!
Thanks Bonnie! Also just won a Human Trainer, so going to add that to the mix too!
We have one kettlebell, but I don’t think it’s heavy enough. I keep meaning to purchase another one………..you may have just inspired me to do so.
What a great time!!
Brad and I were also at the Arnold on Saturday, too bad we didn’t see you there! I am taking a kettlebell class right now, and I’m really enjoying it. Even though sometimes I think it’s going to kill me, I always feel better afterward and I am getting a few muscles
I think you will really like it; good luck!
Argh! I saw you were in Cbus, but didn’t know you were there. Would have loved to meet up!
We were in Columbus for Jude’s induction into the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame. Two of my brothers were there for the Arnold, so we met up with them while we were there to check it out. It was lots of fun, and I got inspired by so many things!
